Level 1: 1 Year
Btec Introductory Diploma in Business/
IT Certificate
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications required. Motivation and commitment
to the subject are important. Acceptable level of literacy and
numeracy (E3/LI).
Course Content
Key skills and Tutorials; 8 units covering: Starting Work in Business,
Retail & Administration, Working in Business, Introducing Customer
Service, Personal Effectiveness, Financial Management, Health and
Safety at Work, Communicating Effectively, Introduction to Retail,
plus IT units involving Word Processing, Spreadsheets and an
awareness of ICT and its uses in the workplace.
Extra Activities
Visits to businesses, including a trip to look at how a theme
park operates.
Progression
Students could progress on to any Level 2 Business or IT course, a
work-based training programme or employment.
Level 2: 1 Year
Btec First Diploma in Business
Entry Requirements
You will need two GCSEs at grades D (preferably in English and
Maths) or BTEC Introductory Diploma at merit or above.
Course Content
Opportunities to improve your communication, numeracy
and ICT skills; The current units are:
Exploring Business Purposes; Investigating Financial Control;
Developing Customer Relations; People and Organisations;
Exploring Key Business Enterprise; Business Communication.
Progression
On completion of this course you could take a BTEC National
Diploma course or start work in office administration, sales,
marketing, financial services or study A-Levels.
Level 2: 1 Year
Btec First Diploma in Business (with IT)
As well as studying key business modules covering areas such as
understanding how a business operates; business finance; starting
a new business and customer service, students will have the
opportunity to study an IT unit involving the use of software packages.
Level 3: 2 Year

years old, he is now just coming up to 26 years. He also
has many self improvement web sites, teaching all aspects

Exploring business activities; Investigating business resources;
Introduction to Marketing; Effective People Communication and
information; and a whole range of other relevant subjects which
could include, internet Marketing, Finance, Business Law, E-Business
and how to start your own business.

Progression
Degree or higher diploma in business studies, information
management and areas of social science, work in administration
